subversive cross stitch – book is coming – available march 30 or march 13 through the site
they also have calendars, notebooks and the kits…
In this wicked little book, Julie Jackson reinvents the age-old craft of cross-stitch, finally putting an end to all that saccharine sentimentalism and giving modern stitchers the chance to say what’s really on their minds.

I love that cross stich and embroidery is becoming popular with our generation. But, I saddned that “modern” too often equals rude and crass. Hmm…. Is THAT what’s on our minds? It makes me a little sad for our generation.
I have no idea what a yoga sock is… I need to go check that out…it sounds awesome!

Melissa — you’re not the only one…
Just because something is on my mind from time to time does not mean I want it framed and hanging up around the house. Especially if it is not one of the nobler sentiments.
“F*ck cancer” is a pretty noble statement, though!

There’s a free Subversive Cross Stitch pattern in the new BUST. It’s the “Babies Suck” pattern. I’m a subscriber & got mine yesterday; don’t know when it’ll be on the stands.

Yeah for Julie and fellow Texan crafters! I can’t wait to see the book. If it is half as cute as Jenny Hart’s embroidery kit it should rule!
