I love the melted bead bowl. I’ve been keeping my eyes out for cheap plastic beads, but so far I’ve only found expensive plastic beads, but I’m determined. I will make a melted bead bowl!
This reminded me of another melted bowl I’d seen on craftster. It is a bowl made with plastic army men and there is a tutorial on how to make it as well.
Army Men Bowl
Gorgeous!
You could also make suncatchers in something flat (e.g. cake pans). I wonder how well they join up — could you support the weight to hang it in a window?
I don’t have oodles of plastic beads stashed, but maybe I will have to get some… I’m envisioning “stained glass” in my windows now.
When I worked for IBM in the early 80′s, we’d use the old 80 column computer cards to make little rectangular bowls. I repaired card punch machines, so computer cards were always available. Fold up a little open box, and you’ve got a place to put the screws and clips and things you removed as you worked on the machine. I still make similar little paper containers whenever I need a quick and temporary storage container.
The paper bowl reminded me of that.
