What a great theme! I am most impressed by the transformation of the boxy Walmart jacket into Corpgoth Fab! I am most inspired (as in, I MUST go check my T-shirt collection NOW to make me one of these) by the pink and orange Matisse T shirt :-)

schedule is okay, but please define the deadline more clearly.
“two weeks” can mean
- two full weeks plus the day(s) you posted before, meaning sunday´s the deadline, no matter what date.
- two weeks from the first of the month, meaning the 14th is deadline, no matter if it´s a wednesday or sunday
….
you know? it should be like “deadline is september, 19th” or something.

Some super entries - as usual :)
My favourite three would be:
pants and a pal (such equisite detail and a total transformation without losing the feel of the starting t-shirt)
bridesmaid’s dress revisited (lovely!)
and
not a boring blazer

Great theme! Wish i’d had more time to participate.
My favourite has got to be

corpgoth by a mile
August 20th, 2006 at 6:18 pm
My favorites are “Pants and a Pal” and “baby, that’s simple”. So simple. So lovely.
August 20th, 2006 at 6:48 pm
My favourite is definitely the ‘boring jacket into Corpgoth fab’ entry! Really creative! Love it!
August 20th, 2006 at 8:43 pm
I wasn’t really clear on the exact deadline either. My favorites are:
Deconstruct/Reconstruct: Boring jacket into Corpgoth Fab by Aiar
Refashion: Mu-Mu Land by Janellepietrzak
Tutorial: That ‘ol Kara Janx spirit by jenfullmoon
I also liked Back to School by Mo. And of course my entry, western wristlet by funkyfinds. :) Thanks for the great challenge!

I LOVE the CorpGoth jacket! It’s amazing, and from Walmart, to boot! LOL
After I looked at my entry (Craft: Skirt,) I thought it might’ve worked a little better as a tutorial, my concept was so simple. I’m kicking myself now, for not taking more pics and turning it into a tut! Next time, I guess! Good luck everybody!
August 20th, 2006 at 10:04 pm
Definitely the CorpGoth jacket. I’m sure the person who sewed up the original in the sweatshop would be impressed as well. Good job, Ms. Right Sides Facing!
August 20th, 2006 at 10:48 pm
For me the most amazing transformations was not a boring blazer by karrie, not only it doesn’t even look like the same piece but it’s also wearable and cute!
I agree with Katrin, it would be nice to know the exact deadline for entries.
August 20th, 2006 at 11:50 pm
Refashion/Reconstruct: not a boring blazer
Tutorial: transvestite shirt
Embellish: matisse t
(And big-up “thank you”s for the votes!)
I would also prefer a more defined “2 weeks”. Is it the 14th, the 15th or 14 days after the topic is posted? My vote is for the 15th of each month.

corpgoth,not a boring blazer, and the pants/pal.

I love the not a boring blazer and CorpGoth jacket
August 21st, 2006 at 7:12 am
Boring Jacket into Corpgoth Fab!::aiar appears to already be everyone’s favorite. It’s obvious why: she takes a mean photo; gets an A+ for sewing technique; and designs one mean jacket.
Other favorites:
back to school::mo
baby that’s simple::greetingarts
conventional coat hat::completely cactus
Summer top from old dress::giseleschoene
classy strapless dress::planetjune

I loved the skirt with the craft wording on it, too. As well as…the boring blazer makeover Carmen mentioned! So many favs :)
August 21st, 2006 at 9:45 am
I like Girl on the Rocks, not a boring blazer…very interesting how the process was done, good photos, and radical but not poorly done change.
August 21st, 2006 at 6:52 pm
My favourites were:
corpgoth fab by aiar
Leg gone dress by Strikkelise
matisse by true stitches
As a first timer, I was somewhat confused by the deadline. I think a definite date posted at the beginning would be helpful.
August 21st, 2006 at 10:35 pm
My favourites are katrins transvestite shirt (with tutorial) and charlottes silver :)
August 21st, 2006 at 10:45 pm
May I add another nominee? I am embarassed that I forgot to include craft : skirt in the embellish category =o.O= I think it deserves a category of it’s own though; clothing as art.
(p.s. I bully my husband into taking photos, so I’ll let him know to keep up the good work ;D)
August 21st, 2006 at 11:56 pm
My fave was the goth jacket remade from the storebought jacket, it was to die for.
August 22nd, 2006 at 1:16 am
This was a fun one. I think the corpgoth jacket is amazing in its detail. I also love the clown pants dress and pants and a pal. I am enjoying having the two weeks to complete the projects but the due date is a bit ambiguous.
August 22nd, 2006 at 1:57 am
I did not participate, because I just couldn’t figure out the deadline….
I love
burda bar
goth jacket
tut: transvestite shirt
August 22nd, 2006 at 4:22 am
my favorite was the walmart blazer into very cute goth shorter blazer. the time? i thought, or misunderstood, that the entrie month of august was wardrobe surgery, so i was pleased when the deadline was extended to 17 august. and with school beginning, i imagine that sept. will be busy for many of us…. so perhaps the sept. challenge can extend monthlong?
August 22nd, 2006 at 6:23 am
Love corpgoth!
Pants and a pal and back to school are great to!
August 22nd, 2006 at 7:28 am
Refashion/Reconstruct: Who couldn’t say Corpgoth, it IS FAB!!!

Equally fabulous is the amazing tutorial for that super sweet shirt of sew-mad. It’s fantastically illustrated and I think it really could make me overcome my fear of sewing a shirt, the explanations are great.
http://sew-mad.blogspot.com/2006/08/transvestite-shirt-tutorial.htmlTutorial: transvestite shirt
Embellish: Love whizzme’s happy kitty sweater, Crafty Gingers skirt, the embroidered onesie by greetingart.
August 22nd, 2006 at 3:04 pm
the corpgoth jacket and the craft: skirt.
the skirt is SO simple, yet SO fabulous!
August 23rd, 2006 at 3:15 am
This was my first whiplash - I had a fabulous time looking at everyone’s entries!
I love so many…and most of my favorites have been mentioned, but here goes:
CorpGoth (De/Re)
Matisse Shirt (Embellish)
Back to School (De/Re)
Baby that’s Simple (Embellish)
Jumpah (Tutorial) - simple & clear with a very cute product.
August 23rd, 2006 at 12:29 pm
My favourites are the Back to school outfit (Mo) and the Little Red Dress tutorial (Muppinstuff2)
I would very much like the deadline to be a certain date, I get confused by the weeks. And I love that there are two weeks rather than 3-4 days, that makes it more possible to finish something.
August 24th, 2006 at 1:15 am
The corpgoth jacket is an amazing transformation and great workmanship. And the craft:skirt is a lovely embellishment.
My concern with the deadline is not just the date (I usually guess the 14th or 15th) but because I am such a procrastinator I am also concerned about when that date is officially over since we are all around the world. I would love an absolute deadline timewise so I’m not worried that I’m going to miss it or rushing for no reason. Would a countdown clock on the whiplash page be very difficult?
August 24th, 2006 at 6:23 am
Definitely: Boring jacket into Corpgoth Fab by Aiar!
August 26th, 2006 at 7:41 am
corpgoth and not so boring blazer are a dead tie.
back to school gets super honorable mention.
August 27th, 2006 at 6:18 am
corpgoth, hands down, no question~!
August 29th, 2006 at 11:11 pm
I didn’t have too much trouble figuring this deadline out. In fact, the only reason I entered was because it was extended a couple days! I really appreciate the heads up (on the deadlines,) it helps to keep me on track!
(I too, would LOVE a countdown clock on the Whiplash page! I think it’s just a javascript code, but I’m not familiar with your site code and how it works.)

My favorite is planetjune’s classy strapless dress - it was simple and practical - which is my philosophy of reconstructing.
Second - not so boring blazer - practical and again the essence of reconstructing, to me.
Third is corpgoth - it is incredible, but also very intricate and was time intensive, I’m sure.
