Pink Crafts
There are several crafting challenges around this month that have to do with the theme of breast cancer awareness and fundraising, in anticipation of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

QuiltPink is an event being held at quilting stores on September 30. Participants will make pink and white squares that will be contributed to quilts to be auctioned off to benefit Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
ThinkPink challenge is collecting hand knitted pink scarves, aiming for 1000, to be sent to the American Cancer Society by October.
Knit for the Cure collects knitted items and sells them. To date, over 700 items have been collected. The hand-knit and crocheted items have been sold at Komen Foundation events raising over $10,000 to support breast cancer patients and to fund breast cancer research and treatment through the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Los Angeles County Affiliate.

You can also check out the book Celebrity Scarves 2, 5% of the proceeds go to breast cancer research.

100% of the proceeds of this cute pattern at knit picks go to research causes.

120% (!) of the proceeds from this lovely pattern go to Susan Love’s breast cancer research foundation.
You can also check out the special knitty mini-issue from last year, related to breast cancer awareness.
