I have to say Katrin has done it again with her tutorial! Pretty soon everyone will be wearing their own Howdy Pardner hat.

As for design, I really liked the Nothing Fancy flapper hats. My girl NEEDS one of those ;-)

Skill probably has to go to the Liette — I’m wowed that one could take a wacky idea like that and actually make it reality. She’s got skills!

Ohhh I love looking through all the entries and voting!!

My favourites are – in no particular order -
The crochet cat hat (love the way the cat’s markings were incorporated in the design and it’s so cute!)
The cheery rainhat – superbly presented tutorial – made me think I wouldn’t mind trying that! Lovely result too!
The mini santa hat – so dedicated to make such a teensy version so well! (and such an unusual entry!)
The kokoshnik – on originality and equisite crafting
and finally – The Mermaid Headress – superb effort and sooo mermaidy!!

As usual all the entries are wonderful – I’m so impressed and so inspired!

recycled hat from a little bunny — the embroidery detail is so sweet

glacier hat from halfbirthdayknits — yarn and design look like melting snow, down to the watery beads

awesome contest and entries from everyone!

Skill: Femme Fedora by CraftyGinger
Design: Liette hat by thefableneedle
Tutorial: Howdy Stranger hat by Sew Mad

I think all the entries are great but these just seemed over the top and memorable. Although if there was one more category I’d have to add in the Medieval Kokoshnik.

Design – A toss up for me between the Crafty Cupcake and the Liette Hat
Tutorial – I’m going to be a bit of a renegade and go with the Needlefelt Peacock tutorial
Skill – Medieval Kokoshnik

And for Dorie and anyone else interested in a pattern for the Flapper Hats, I’ll try and write one up and post it on my blog in the next week or so.

Wow, I just wanted to thank everyone who mentioned my hat as one of their favorites – I’m really taken aback and delighted! :)

There are so many talented hat makers here, and I found Glacier Torque, I’ll just Have the Salad, and Cheery Rainhat to be a lot of fun. Medieval Kokoshnik and Tiny Santa were great too. I don’t know, I could say something nice about all the entries – great work everyone!

It’s a tie for my favourite between aiar’s Snow White Crown and brahdelt’s Medieval Kokoshnik. I also like the Mermaid Headband tutorial, Ruth Singer’s Remade Hat and Crafty Ginger’s Femme fedora.
