How is everyone liking the new Etsy?

Marieke from Netherlands writes in to introduce her blog, treats and treasures, and tell us about a couple of patterns she has online (check out the stole). This is a real treat of a blog - check it out.

We love whip up - what a fantastic website!
We are a small company (only two and a half people) in south australia, who make originally designed soft toys for children, young people and people who like to think they’re young.

The new Etsy - just looked. My favourite part is the ’small increase’ in listing costs, from 10 to 20 cents. Over here in England, we’d call that a 100% increase!!!

I agree, Marieke’s blog is wonderful. Collage, drawing, knitting, photography, craft…this girl does it all, and she does it all so well!

Yes, I love love Marieke’s blog too….always worth a visit!!

I am not crazy about the new etsy site, I think the listing fee increase is a shame for a lot of people….and I am also not keen on the re-design, as it is just not to my taste {not that it neccesarily was before}..especially the way the new thumbnails badly crop the images. I think it is also a shame that there was no information given to sellers about the changes and how they would affect the stores……but, it is still a great source of handmade design and I guess that is the important thing. :)

Marieke’s blog is very well done–lots to look at and ponder. The collages on graph paper are awesome. There is a soft spot in my heart for graph paper–so neat and tidy and useful!

As a seller the new etsy has been frustrating many times, but it seems to be running better now and I’m getting used to the newness. I did buy two things from two different people to check out that new functionality and it was easy.

Yesterday someone bought 4 items from me and it worked fabulously! Not only did I get paid there was only one email and one entry in PayPal instead of four emails and four separate PP transactions. AND I’ve never sold 4 things at once. So that right there sold me on the new etsy.

I’m disappointed that Etsy still requires a credit card. They mentioned that they’d change that when they went out of Beta, it looks like they won’t now.
