I guess a lot of craft ideas have been around for years (or decades, or centuries for that matter). What can make one special is a new or fresh interpretation. This image, for me, is not just about the tree idea, but the interpretation - elegant minimal use of buttons, the white on white colour scheme, the modern, natural Christmas context of starfish and worn stones. And whether or not they've been around for years, how handy is it to pop over and visit and pick up a free pattern to play with?

If you've got other Christmas decoration ideas you'd like to contribute, please do send them to the admin or post another comment here with some links. Whip up is read by such a diverse group of people with so many different ideas and knowledge. What's old hat to you may be as daisy-fresh to someone else as it once was to you. We're all on a crafting journey. Christmas greetings!
