hey there! thanks for blogging about my bag; i love to get feedback. to respond to genie's concern, some spray-on acrylic sealer goes a long way for color protection with most surfaces, including burlap.

have fun!

I have a friend who has a lot of the burlap rice bags and uses them for toting groceries (without making them into cute purses). She said that the ink on the bag is NOT colorfast and will "run like mad if they get wet" - to the point of her not even using them in the rain. I love the idea of the tote, and would be willing to make it, but only after seriously putting it through the washer a few times. Still, I love the idea - maybe if I can get the ink issue resolved, it will be a great holiday gift next year!
