		<description>I was so excited when I spotted the "cool" crocheted hats book in my library a couple of days ago. They only have a handful of crochet books, so to see something new was a bit of a thrill.

Sadly though, as you say, the vast majority of the patterns are hideous. It does nothing to assuage the myth that crochet is solely the realm of whacked-out, stylistically-challenged grannies.</description>
