I’ve been eyeing the Zakka pouch in the Japanese crafting magazines but couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to make them (as I don’t read nor understand Japanese). This tutorial helps a lot. Thank you.

I deleted a comment about the originality of this design at the request of the designer. And then deleted another nasty comment directed at the person who left the original comment, who had received some not-very-nice email about her comment. The original comment was a valid point, and was supposed to encourage debate. I am sorry for the negativity surrounding this and sorry that the both the designer was offended and unable to respond and the commenter received such negative attention at their blog.

In addition to Japanese books there’s also a tutorial for one (in English!) in The Crafters Companion (Ed Anna Torburg, published by Snowbooks), along with an inspiring variety of other stitching project tutorials.

I am pleased to see that the comments were moderated. It is “how-to-make one” tutorial after all.
