No offense to the designer of #1, but it doesn't say "whip up" to me at all. However, it receives consistently high votes, it seems. I wonder if that person has a blog with high readership and is advocating her/his readers vote for the banner no matter what they think fits the category best, or if people really are responding so strongly to that design?
