It's too late, but I like writing lists anyway.

1) Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pies. Soooo bad for me. Sooo tasty.

2) Walrus Ice Cream. Local ice cream joint (www.walrusicecream.com), best in the world. Chocolate cake batter with oreos and chocolate chip cookie dough mixed in in a chocolate dipped waffle cone.

3) Going to the library and coming home with a stack of books I wouldn't ever buy (and would likely have difficulty admitting I've read) and churning through them.

4) Eating aforementioned oatmeal cream pies while enthroned on a pile of pillows on my bed reading said books I would never buy.

5) Chilly sunrises on the back porch with a cup of hot chocolate and a totally unfair amount of marshmellows.

Eating violet creams or Bendicks mints in the front room with the door closed, flipping through the unread mags that are collecting...

A quick kip on the couch on the porch after dinner, hidden by the Dutchman's pipe vines that are out of control...

Riding my bicycle around my neighbourhood after midnight...

Using up all the leftover bits of cheese to make cheese'n'onion popovers, then gorging...

Sneaking writing time...

1. Quilting fabric! I have more than I can make quilts with but it's so seductive.
2. Swing /big band music, played loudly, while I dance, badly.
3."So you think you can dance" - the only "reality" TV show I have ever watched .
4. Staying in bed to cuddle with my toy poodle when I should be working
5. Black tea with Madagascar vanilla. Pricey, but soooo worth it!

Snacking In bed beside my husband as He sleeps watching TV.

Being on my computer without interruptions .......

Walking outdoors and talking to God looking at the nature surrounding me. Giving HIM thanks for the good and the bad in the world, teaching me daily to appreciate what I have and to give whenever I can.

Vacations ..... I haven't had one in over 4 years.

Whenever my sewing-machine thread doesn't screw up while I'm sewing.

My top five guilty pleasures (in no particular order) are:

Cutting out of work early to see an afternoon movie

A day walking from Central Park to Chinatown and back

Starbucks Iced Coffee

Reality TV (Project Runway, America's Next Top Model, and Top Chef especially)

An entire day outdoors!

5 guilty pleasures:

letting myself fall asleep when I get really drowsy and start dozing off

midnight sewing (i live in an apartment..)

getting the cat to sit in my lap rather than my partners'

hiding my favorite cookies in my desk drawer at work (I usually share..)

starting new projects without finishing old ones

Making a pan of brownies and being the only one that licks the spoon and/or bowl (even with 3 kids and a hungry husband who I just don't tell until they're done)
Googling every ex-boyfriend I can think of to see what kind of lives they're leading now
Down with Love (I mean, have you ever seen this movie? Guilty, very guilty)
Picking stray hairs off my husband's shoulders, then pretending I didn't know it was actually growing out of his skin, but that I thought it was just sitting there (gotta get rid of those--yecchhhh)
Going off to put my baby to sleep so that I can get a few quiet moments to nod off in the rocking chair ("he just wouldn't go to sleep...really")

Why do lists control my life anyway? If I don't take one to the grocery store I spend twice as much and if I do my baby chews it up and I can't make it out, so I forget everything. If I list things I wish I'd done, I feel incomplete, and if I list things I have done, I feel embarassed. If I write a list of chores, I do laundry just so I can draw a line through it on the list, but I keep checking to see if anything else gets crossed off by anyone else. It never does, and I just rip up the list to get even. What would I do without lists? 1. Go crazy 2. OOPS there I go again....
