I saw the exhibit and benefited from your insightful comments. The piece that stirred my imagination most was LAMENT (unfortunately, I've forgotten the artist's name). This was the object with two huge wings on either side of a harness that had been made from a backpack -- if you looked closely, you could see that the wings had been constructed of gloves and embroidered on the surface. As it turned out, every component of the piece had been a found object. I had been thinking of Daedalus, but it turned out also that the artist's father had been a pilot in the Vietnam War, and that the artist himself was a pilot.
