anatomy embroideries

am loving these anatomy embroideries by Rachel from Cornflower blue studio

Rachel calls them postmodern embroideries which are created in response to ideas of appropriation, obsession with self and deconstruction of materials.

Petri Dish, Thorax and Heart and lungs are part of a series inspired by human biology and anatomy, Petri dish was featured on Craftzine on April 18, 2008.

You know, these are the kinds of things that Child Life hospital programs would love! They tend use dolls with anatomical details to show kids about the surgery, etc. that they will be experience.

I don’t know what their budgets are like, but if anyone makes this kind of thing they might be interested in purchasing some. Donations of these crafts would be really appreciated at struggling Child Life programs.
