Hi,
I’m about to have my second child in a couple of months. My first child, a girl, will be almost two and half when the baby is born and is quite obsessed with babies and baby dolls. I’m hoping to use this to our advantage and have bought her a baby doll for the new baby to give her as a gift. What I’m looking for is online patterns/tutorials for things that I can make to go with the doll - clothing, nappies/diapers, sleeping bags, slings/baby carriers etc. Does anyone have any useful links? I’d also really like to find a pattern for a small wooden cradle but have not been able to find one so far…. any ideas?

check your library for a book by Valeria Ferrari
Baby dolls and their clothes : dozens of projects to make.

I ended up finding a used one online. I don’t have it in front of me, but it had a way of making a cradle from a basket - and basic clothing and underwear - mostly for the Waldorf-style dolls. Also has the doll pattern.

Another book that is very comprehensive:
Making Dolls and Dolls’ Clothes by Lia van Steenderen. Have to dig up my copy, but I’m pretty sure it has everything from clothes to cradle and accessories. The Purl Bee and Martha Stewart (http://www.marthastewart.com/making-dolls-with-laura) online have some adaptable doll and clothing patterns. Older Mon Tricot, McCall’s soft toy booklets have great stuff too, I got them on eBay for less than $5 USD including shipping.

I have been making my daughter clothes for her animals and dolls using my ottobre (ottobredesign.com) magazine. I’ve just used the infant patterns and then graded them a size or two smaller, and in some cases no adjustment has been needed. So I would think that if you have baby patterns you may be able to adjust them fairly easy. I have also found some cute cloths by searching for “free doll patterns”. There are a ton of them out there, any size doll you have. have fun!

Check ebay for older doll clothes patterns. I’ve found some gorgeous vintage doll clothes patterns for pretty cheap!
