Sensual Knits: Luxurious Yarns, Alluring Designs by Yahaira Ferreira published by Sterling/Hollan (January 1, 2008)
A perfect title for a book full of well fitted and stylish designs. As a knitter in my 70’s I was impressed by many of the designs - although there were many that would suit the younger generation there were still quite a few suitable for a range of age groups. For myself I thought the ‘Multiplicity Sweater’ would suit any age who wants something warm and smart and I also really like the ‘Rosamund Modern Kimono’ a 3/4 sleeve cardigan with one button at chest level with some “Floral intarsia” ornamentation. Very nice. Very smart.
For the the knitter who likes a challenge try the ‘Seeded cables Cardigan’ that would certainly give satisfaction.
One thing I found of great interest were the variety of different yarns recommended for the garments and of course our Australian Merino wool. This is of course the authors specialty and I am glad it came through in the book. Also I really enjoyed reading about the different designers without having to forage in the back of the book to find out who they were.
