How do you look after your fabric stash? Do you fold it? Throw it in a pile and wade through it? Wash it as soon as it arrives at your home? Never wash it? Just use it? Meticulously catalogue it?

Kim over at Trueup has had some great posts about stash. Here’s a link to her stash catagory, link. Via Trueup I found this great technique for folding fabric using quilter’s rulers. Link. I used it this weekend and it works a treat!

I found the most amazing way to stash my stash… I buy 100-packs of comic book boards (the thin cardboad inserts they use to keep comics protected) and wrap my fabric around them… this way they stand up nice in my bookshelf and never get messed up. I also make notes on the cardboard sometimes- how much I have left, where it came from.. etc.
