Martha Street Studio [Martha Street Studio is a community-based printmaking facility in Winnipeg.] has hosted ‘Under Pressure’, Winnipeg’s only Steamroller Print Festival. High school students, community groups, and artists from across Winnipeg create large linoleum carvings leading up to the festival. On the day of the festival the carvings are inked and printed with the aid of a real steamroller.

This is SO Cool!!! I wish I was there to see the printing “process”, and, most of all the result. It is awesome.
Awesome. If I could get myself there I would. That is the coolest thing I have ever seen. Who thought of that? I might have to re-create that right here in front of my house. Just awesome.
I live near Winnipeg, and I’ve never heard of this festival. That is so cool, I wish I could’ve seen it. Maybe next year :)
I live in Winnipeg and have never heard of this – thank you for the link!!
Here’s a fun little ‘how-to’ video for steamroller printing that was produced in my little hometown of Tacoma WA:
