upholstery bag

I found that I can make purses and wristets out of old fabric sample books. I get the books from a local re-upholstery shop. I met the owner and asked what he did with his old books and he just threw them out. I asked him to call me the next time he was going to get rid of some and walked away with over 30 books. I cant believe the amount of patterns and colors. I am so happy I can reuse this wonderful fabric and make something that people can use.

Hi,

That is a great idea. I have been making shoe bags out of upholstery samples and I have given them to all my friends who really enjoy them. Have fun with them. Lorraine

The combination of fabrics on this bag is unusual and so very complementary. What a great ‘rescue’ of upholstery sample books.

Have you come across any tips on how to remove the paper backing some manufacturers put on parts of their sample pieces????
