christmas crackers
Juliet wrote in with this lovely letter and a link to her christmas cracker tutorial - check it out – thank you Juliet.
I am a big fan of your site and since I discovered it a year ago it has inspired me to make some lovely things and to set up my own crafting blog! There is so much going on in the US craftworld but not so much here in the UK but I think that’s soon going to change, with the economic downturn and people realising that hand made things are every bit as good as shop bought and far more thoughtful and environmentally friendly.

Just wanted to say there is plenty going on in the UK too – 4 craft mafias (Manchester, Glasgow, Sheffield and Nottingham), a major new project covering 5 galleries and a university in the NW looking at DIY craft culture in the UK next spring, the advent of http://www.folksy.com , the UK etsy street team, the UK handmade site and magazine, the Make Lounge in London, the we make markets and blog… and those are just off the top of my head – there’s tons more too!
