Cute pattern! In New England, a purse is called a pocketbook. When I moved here, I thought people were referring to wallets, but no, a purse is a pocketbook.

Americans still call purses bags. At least on the West Coast! Whatever you call it, that’s one cute bag!

In Australia a wallet is something that usually belongs to man (to carry around change, cards, cash etc). A purse is the same thing, but usually owned by a woman & usually a bit bigger.

But Americanisations creep into our speech & sometimes you will hear someone refer to a women’s handbag/shoulder bag/bag as a purse. Especially if it’s a clutch or something like that.

Not all that complicated :)
