buckmaster

Australian artist Lizzie Buckmaster Dove works with vintage books to create these sculptural forms. Lizzie Buckmaster Dove: An End to Myth is on until 4 April at Flinders Lane Gallery, Melbourne.

Buckmaster creates paper construction from images of native flora and fauna, working with the precision and measure of a curious botanist.

Her work references scientific illustration natural history museums. She loves of the physicality of books… and finds it provocative to breath new life into a mostly redundant but intrinsically beautiful object.
