“Topflappen” is actually pot-holder (in German), rather than dishcloth, but I think I’d use these as trivets — they’re so pretty!

My grandma, who immigrated from Germany around 1906, crocheted tons of these. I grew up seeing them on the dinner table for hot dishes to rest on each night. My mom still uses them.

i looove this pattern but i wish it was in english….it seems like alot of trouble to translate every word….can anyone that has translated give me a hand please???
