I had a pair of shoes made like this. They were custom made for me at a Ren fest in Maryland. I love the shoes so much that I wore a hole in them. My nieces called them Jesus shoes. Thank you for posting this. Maybe I can now make me a new pair.

They’re gorgeous. But they look too genteel for the R & P mob (I guess that’s a kind of time-travel NRL joke) !

They are more Celtic in design. But easy to make, and very good for even the viking age.
