whipup roundup {July wk 5}

Last week it was my boy’s birthday, which leaves my birthday a week later in the dust. So yesterday was my birthday and I spent the day at home, designing quilts and fiddling with fabric. Perfect!

Whipup has seen some craftyness this past week – checkout the refashion roundup pt 2 : book review - from the toe up - all about sock knitting : do you love the look of Kanzashi – traditional fabric folding – you can find out more with this book.

Interested in hat knitting – love the Indian summer hat : and this child’s hat pattern in Finnish : Some skull knitting and crochet – I LOVE this girls jumper dress with little skulls around the edge – my fave knitting pattern this week and how cool is this crochet felt skull bag – yes very very cool : Lovely argyle scarf : and I love the sweet simplicity of this bobble edged knitted hand towel : and if you are a sock knitter or just a knitter then you need to get to the sock summit - looks just so fantastic – don’t forget to vote in the dye for glory competition too.

For some sewing and getting ready for christmas – this delightful quilted advent calendar – I can think of some other applications for this design too : and sort of in a similar vein the alphabet block magnets is a very cool idea.

Making these skirts for your little darlings is a must : and another cool and unusual ring design this time using ribbon : ooah - tooth fairy bags – so cute!

And while you are crafting away you need some chai to go with that – here’s how. Me – I am away for the weekend with the family and on Sunday I will constructing my new craft room – a birthday present to me. Will post pics next week (hopefully!).
