how-to: s’more love wedding favours

Being an Australian s’mores are an unknown to me. In theory they sound like they could be pretty ok, crackers, chocolate and marshmallow, then add heat and eat. Nice. Link to tutorial, and for those of us that aren’t American, a definition.

Do you have a snack like s’mores that’s popular in your country? All I can think of for Australia is lamingtons, but they’re not quite as portable and make on the spotish.

I’m originally from the UK, so when I came to the US to live and was introduced to smores, I kinda thought they were like insideout Wagon Wheel biscuits. You have those in Australia too right?

You totally have to try one, kath!! :) Your kids will love them! Toast a marshmallow over the stove or a candle!

My question is… Do we even have the crackers they use for those here in Australia?

I used to _love_ s’mores when I was a kid and had very fond memories of them after I moved down here to NZ. On a visit back to Canada last summer I had one while camping and woah – sweet, filling-achingly sweet! Can’t do sweet like that anymore, or perhaps my palette has been refined somewhat down in the antipodes? ;) But as for a similar kind of thing I’d nominate coffee sucked through a Timtam! There’s a name for that I know, but it escapes me at the moment.

cant beat s’mores when camping – no matter your age.

if you do it – you must burn the marshmallow before placing it on the chocolate and graham cracker – this will insure that the chocolate melts. a little bit of awesome right there.

I am from Cornwall, but have lived in the States most of my life.

I make these with Digestives Biscuits. I prefer the Milk Chocolate, and the Dark Chocolate is tasty, too.

As an American who lived in Europe, I brought all the traditional S’more supplies on a camping trip and introduced them to the Dutch, Brit, and German kids at the campground. They all came back three nights in a row, and showered me with the cutest thank you drawings when we left!

I’d agree with Jemma that digestive biscuits would be appropriate substitutes, or in a pinch, a roasted marshmallow on top of a Lu.

I also believe Jacqui’s nomination is a Timtam Slam. ;-) OK, now I need sweets!
