thanks Julie for sending in this tutorial link – patchwork ironing board cover: I sew for living, which means that I find myself spending a lot of quality time at my ironing board. I go thru those store bought (and not very attractive) covers a lot, so I decided to pretty up ironing board, using the contents of my scrap basket, and not only is it great to look at, but it turned out to be quiet sturdy and with a nice thickness that will last me a long time.

Out of the need for a hard wearing & practical product that didn’t look like something out of my Grandmother’s wardrobe, we started making our own ironing board covers too.

Our ironing board covers are made of canvas which can withstand hours of heat, steam & hot water. Our designs are screen-printed and are washable and iron-friendly. They have a drawstring and thick foam padding, and are made big enough to fit the larger boards, and draw in to snugly fit the smaller sizes.
