whipup newsletter no.12 2010

If you were reading my twitter posts today you would have found out 2 things. The first is that I ran over my finger with my long-arm quilting machine – put the timing out on my machine, bandaged up my gash, and then had to await my husband to fix it – in the meantime I wrote this newsletter, drank sweet tea and ate chocolate to recover from the stupidity of it all. The second thing was the announcement of the release of Whip Up Mini Quilts I won’t say more about it now – am planning a month of mini quilts at whipup in April as well as a blog tour later next month. I will just leave you with a pic of the gorgeous cover.

Don’t forget to pass on to friends this info and voucher to advertise with whipup – link peruse the info sheet (I have a pdf and use this 15% discount voucher when booking an ad between now and 1 AprilMarch2010wKcH65‘.

Some great content on whipup this month too … its not all about me :) We did a fantastic refashion roundup – this t-shirt grocery bag is one of my faves … reviewed some great books and featured lots of easter friendly crafts. I was also reading about family drawing time - an activity I love – and some helpful budgeting tips and crafts

  1. EASTER FRIENDLY CRAFTS: … Ukrainian Easter Eggschocolate birds nests felt egg design book folded paper chicks and bunnieseaster egg grass carrot candy bag
  2. QUIRKY: … sock bunny hunky guys fabric
  3. BOOK: … Lily Chin’s tips and tricksfelt me a smile

Happy crafting!

Hope the finger is better today- sewing over my finger is one of my nightmares and will probably keep me from EVER getting an industrial sewing machine. I saw your twitter and was wondering what machine in your life had turned on you ;-)

I’m looking forward to your book. It look like there are a lot of cute quilts in it and I love to make miniatures.

Warm wishes from Tokyo, Japan. Thank you for this e-newsletter which I truly appreciate & enjoy receiving. I had a similiar incident recently with my new Bernina & it was agonising. I hope your finger recovers soon! Congratulations on your new book. I too, look forward to this! Have a good weekend!

Oh my gosh! I’ve done this too – sewed my finger to a quilt with my Bernina and could not figure HOW to get that needle and thread out – it took me about 5 minutes to get it together and do the job right, but I survived! Hope you do too! Looking forward to mini quilts in April!
