Paper chains are always fun – and great to use up old newspapers – here is a reminder if you have forgotten how to make them.

Thank you to Abi for sending in this fabulous pattern for turning a vintage pillowcase into a shopping tote.

This tutorial is a perfect, quick summer project using just one vintage pillowcase to create a very sturdy and adorable reusable tote. It’s great for those of us who spend less time indoors during the warmer months but still end the day wishing we had made something. In about 10 minutes and with just one pillowcase you will have a tote bag! Working with vintage materials is always a joy because they are thrifty, accessible and usually adorable :) This tote uses all of the case, no scraps, and requires just a few simple cuts and very basic sewing so it accessible to most crafters. Also, it’s tag sale season so part of the fun is hunting down vintage cases to love and use!
