I have a version of this sock pattern on my hook at the moment – really good pattern for beginners like me.

I found this excellent video on crocheting a turned heel on your sock (here is a lovely crochet sock pattern too + another one)

Its been a crazy week – home from work sick with a fluey/coldy thing which I can’t seem to shake, but whilst at home I did manage to catch up on some crafting. Made the family new winter hats – gorgeous Noro Kochoran angora/silk/wool combo beautiful. Also been doing the patterns and more illustrations for my next book to go with the manuscript. But the big craziness came when my hubby had to go to emergency for appendicitis – he is still in hospital and will be for the weekend – so the kids and I are back and forth keeping him company. Pretty tired actually. But did manage to make him a soft sleep mask so he can get some sleep in all the glare that is hospital life. So this newsletter will be short and sweet – highlighting just a few fabulous things that whipup has featured this week.

But before that here are some placed I have been – - – I have been addicted to the crochet colour blast of Sarah London – she has an online shop – and teaches too – and sells patterns – - – I have been also online yarn shopping at Bendigo Wool Mills – yummy soft Australian wool and also lashed out and purchased Manos del Uruguay from a yarn outlet - they were having a sale!

Thanks Britt for sending in this tutorial - how to make a cuff using techniques from the Alabama stitch book and studio style books. it uses old t-shirts, is low cost and super easy to make.
