June 2010

Christine emailed me to let me know about her pursuit of “a life more crafty”. She has started on a mad venture of trying a new craft every week for a year. Its called 52 projects in 52 weeks – you could join her!

It’s possible that I may end up bankrupt in the process – 52 new crafts (or at least most of them will be new) isn’t going to be cheap so I’ll have to find the lowest cost ways possible to get creative by hunting down bargains. And I may have to beg forgiveness from my husband on more that one occasion as the craft room starts overflowing. But hopefully it will be fun and along the way I’ll learn new skills and make lots of pretty things for me, my home and my friends and family.

So Far Christine has tried freehand machine embroidery and paper quilling – next its papier mache. Looks like a fun way to spend the next 52 weekends.

Emily sent in her tute for this cute mini pincushion: I have made a mini version of the popular stuffed pincushion flowers and show a few ways to use them. Hopefully soon others will make some too
