Joan from Lazy girl designs made this sturdy practical and cute purse from a Boy Scout Den Mother uniform for a friend in celebration of her son becoming an Eagle Scout. I asked for her uniform, looked at all of the fantastic finished elements, chopped it up and made a bag. My friend was thrilled and I love how it turned out. Recycling a sentimental article of clothing into something current is a nice way to continue enjoying the item.

Awesome Awesome Awesome Awesome!!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Absolutely lovely. I make “double green bags” from recycled blue jeans/denim. I love taking someone’s old favorite jeans or vest, etc. and turning it into a bag that they can use and enjoy all the while helping the environment and letting them still keep their memories.
Looks fabulous, and very sturdy!!! I’ve been doing the same but making notebook/diary covers out of old shirt uniforms! Everyone loves them!
I have been doing something quite similar for ladies with their husbands military uniforms for the past 6 years or so. I love how each uniform has it’s own tale to tell.
