It’s a printable magazine for kids (aged 7+) in an easy downloadable PDF format. With no advertising, it is jam packed with 20+ pages of craft projects, outdoor activities, cooking, drawing and more, everything a kid needs for a weekend (or two) of activities.
This action packed magazine for kids will inspire creativity and healthy habits, as it feeds inquisitive minds, and challenges the imagination. We have developed this ‘Action Pack’, with busy parents and creative energetic kids in mind.
In this pack we have included science experiments that you can actually use, easy and delicious recipes, simple craft projects that require minimal adult supervision and outdoor activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
In this pack you will find:
- - Instructions to make 2 different origami beeswax dipped boats that will actually stay afloat in water. + more origami projects.
- - Instructions to show you how-to draw realistic and cartoon bees. Plus lots of fun facts and interesting information.
- - How to make beeswax candles and recipes to make your own natural beeswax lip balm & hand-lotion with printable labels!
- - Recipes to make a yummy Honey & Cinnamon cake, & a healthy honeycomb lemonade.
This March Issue of the Whipup.net Action Pack comes with a heat warning – some projects require the use of hot melted beeswax – adult supervision may be required.
Our philosophy:
- We see kids as competent, creative and capable people. We believe that our kids are resourceful and clever and we try to enable them to develop their independence and creative minds within a secure and nurturing environment.
- We see learning opportunities everywhere. Learning should and can be fun. But we also know that parents are busy and cannot realistically be spending all weekend ‘playing’ with their kids. We want kids to get off the couch, away from the computer and learn the value and fun in making and doing stuff.
We really love the end result and hope you do too:

I’m really pleased with this – my eldest is a under 7 but he’s going to love the things we make for him to play with from this. And it’ll be well worth saving for when he’s bigger.
Congratulations! What a great launch!

Yup Yup we live by running water too!

Looks Great!
I just shared this little bit of brilliance on my little blog…how i wish my kids were younger to enjoy this gem….maybe I’ll just get one for me. Yes, that would be fantastic!
Oh thank you so much – you are so sweet – i hope you can find someone to share it with – maybe you could borrow someone else’s kids to come play one day!

well, I did it….I ordered one for me. I will invite the neighbors kids if I can’t force mine into submission. Someone has to play with me!! And thank YOU for posting the link! You are also sweet!
oh yay – I hope you have fun with it! I am sure your kids are not too old for many of the projects :)
Agreed Theresa! I like to babysit for free to just have playtime
with the little kids! This will be great.
congratulations on this magazine, it’s great. I’m going to start with the handcream :-)
Oh thank you so much – the hand cream is fantastic – you’ll love it!
OK….I bought it and then thought I saved it but cannot find it. Can someone email me and tell me how to re-download? I found a great beeswax source and cannot wait to start.
Perfect! We keep a few beehives in our city yard. Our 6 year old crafty girl has been helping with the bees since she was 4. We love to find bee related activities. Thank you! I am so excited about this.
Wow – you keep bees – that is so cool!
Amazing. I have to complement you on your projects choices, so fit for boys as well. yay you.
This looks so great! and bee themed to boot!
Perfect for our family : )
I just ordered it and it’s awesome. Superbly done! My kids will love to make some of these projects.
This looks great.
Ordering right now!
Looks like a great magazine. How can I subscribe? Susan
I have not yet set up a subscription service – it is buy in now for now :)
What a wonderful concept — and even better execution. I just purchased a copy for myself, and I’ve shared (and linked to your shop) on my blog. Thanks for this! My kids (and I) are going to be very busy this weekend!
My daughter [11] is very excited about making the things in this magazine. We’re going to recommend it to our home schooling groups and mailing lists as well.
oh that would be great – enjoy everyone. Issue 2 will be coming out in April too :)
i’m a little late to the party, but i’m so excited about this magazine! i just downloaded a copy and can’t wait to show my kids. we’ve got plenty of beeswax, but i have a feeling we’ll be tracking down some honeycomb this afternoon. my son asked for some yesterday, but once he sees it in the action pack, it will become a necessity. i’ll definitely be linking this on my blog! thanks kathreen!
Hi Molly – you can use regular honey instead of honeycomb – but you can often find honeycomb at a health food store.
Good luck with the projects!
Kathreen

We love this! My 5 year old son is taking his origami sailboat to school for show and tell this morning. Both my boys (5 & 7) were excited to make lip “bombs” until I explained that it is lip balm. We can’t wait to try it!
How exciting – and lip bombs sound super cool – maybe I should make some of those :)
I feel like I might be missing something obvious, but is there some way to buy this for someone else? I’ll be buying it for my family but I’d like to share as a little gift for a friend on the other side of the country…
