I’ll self-promote and mention my own! ;) Kids in the Studio (http://abh21.wordpress.com/)
It’s got a rather narrow focus of open-ended art activities rather than crafts. We explore different methods, materials, and subjects (depending) over the age range of my kids (2-9). It helps me make creativity and exploration through art a priority, and we’ve all benefited.
Love finding new blogs to peek through. Love your explorations of materials and to see how different age children approach the same provocation, thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Jena, and I clicked over to yours after seeing your comment below. How I wish we had a Reggio-inspired early childhood center around here! I don’t remember how I first came across the Reggio Emilia philosophy, but it had to be about five years ago. I borrowed all the books I could find–I had to go to the state college, which has a strong education program–and tried to figure out if I could replicate it at home. I didn’t think I could, not truly, because it’s so collaborative; it really works best in a group, if I understand it all correctly (and I don’t claim to!). But I love that you used the word provocation because when I was first mulling over what I wanted to do in our studio space, that was my ideal. :)
NO self promotion here, but I know a few cute kids blogs like :
Giddy Giddy http://blog.giddygiddy.com/
Curly Birds http://curlybirds.typepad.com/curly-birds/
Bloesem Kids http://bkids.typepad.com/

Just started this blog about a month ago and it’s been great fun.
I tell stories about our little family’s creative adventures.
I used to be a “Atelierista” or “Studio Teacher” in a Reggio Inspired Early Education Center and now am a stay at home mom of 2 spirited boys.
My kids go to a reggio inspired school – we love it!
I’ll also give props to my favorite blogs, Teacher Tom and TinkerLab . I check these everyday for Tom’s philosophical stories from a COOP classroom and TinkerLab for it’s science driven creative challenges. My boys love checking these with me to see what projects they might like to try.
