Whipup.net is a site about making for makers from around the world. It covers a range of topics and crafts. Knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting and embroidery are among the main topics, however we also delve into wood, glass and ceramics, weaving, paper, book making, polymer clay and other mediums. We look at books, exhibitions, public crafting and design all with a handmade focus. We feature essays, interviews, tutorials and reviews about people, patterns, books, exhibitions and media.

Whipup was founded in February 2006 by Kathreen Ricketson, daily posts are written by Kathreen and Nicole Vaughan from Craftapalooza, with occasional guest contributors [read our submission guidelines to see how you can contribute].

Whipup’s readers come from around the world and love all things handmade. They are makers – artists, designers, homemakers, knitters, sewers etc. Traditional old school makers to the new wave of groovy young things and everyone in between.
