Maitreya lives in New Jersey with her husband and 2 cats. She has always been crafty and surrounded by a crafty family, ranging from a quilting great grandma to a beading mother to a dremel-wielding husband. Both of her (also crafty) sisters have been keeping blogs for a long time, so almost 3 years ago she started craftlog to procrastinate writing her thesis. Now a scientist and teacher by day and a crafter by night, she particularly likes embroidery, sewing, making clothes for her Blythe doll, Gocco-printing, and anything to do with felt. She recently started Crafting Japanese as a way of keeping track of one of her favorite inspirations, Japanese craft books. She also maintains the Marthadex, a searchable index of Martha Stewart magazine articles.
