Any way you slice it: Quilts and other works by Denyse Schmidt
October 21 – December 3
At the University of Bridgeport’s Arnold Bernhard Center Gallery

Quilts pictured here in order all by Denyse Schmidt: Works Special Edition, tangerine poppy; Outlaws, Denver Series; Hope as the Anchor of the Soul, Mount Lebanon Series, Quilt #3.
Lovely Kathy has taken the time to show and tell her experience sewing the Denyse Schmidt Cog + Wheel pattern, some bloody useful tips! Link to post.

Did you miss out on Denyse Schmidt’s range “Flea Market Fancy”? Have you seen some of the crazy prices it’s selling for online? Would you like to see a reprint so you can get your mitts on some? Well get on over to Sew Take a Hike and sign the “petition”. Link to petition.

I admit I love the idea of the cheater print and Denyse just does it so well in her new County Fair range. Pink Chalk Studio has designed a quilt using the cheater and offers it as a free download. Link. I’ve spied in her flickr pages how she bastes the 3 layers together. Link.
If you head on over to her store she has kits available too.

Using an improvisational patchwork technique, Denyse created this one-of-a-kind heirloom for her friend Wendy. Wendy had asked Denyse to use her childhood dresses that had been hand-sewn by her grandmother.
