How did you start out with your business?

This business was started back in 2005 in the Creative Arts department of Wollongong University. Over five years it has blossomed into one of the most popular label and wall art companies within Australia.  From listening to our customers perspective we have added and redesigned lots of our products, which allows us to continually keep our brand fresh and exciting.

What is the most challenging part of your business?

We love all aspects of running this business, especially helping our customers to find the right product for their needs. So the most challenging part of our business is spreading the word so we really appreciate when people help to tell their friends about us and what we do.

What is your dream for the future of your business?

We will expand our range of high quality designed wall art and labels for kids and around the home. Our main focus will always be within Australia but in the near future we will branch out into the US, Europe and Asia. We have always enjoyed giving back to community groups, and we endeavor to expand this by working closely with a children’s charity whose goals and vision are linked with Bright Star Kids in the near future.

Today Bright Star Kids are offering a prize of a $40 gift voucher to one lucky reader. So please leave a comment here to be in the running to win. You have 48 hours to enter. Winner will be chosen at random, announced here and contacted via email. Good luck!

Congratulations to Kirsten N!

Letter: from Kate

I’ve been enjoying the toys and games month, as I make a lot of toys. There have been some really great ideas! I thought you might like this free online tutorial for making sock monkeys, it’s really detailed and makes it super easy. I’ve never really been that into sock monkeys I have to say, but once you start making them…. they have this amazingly satisfying squishy feel about them and kids find them really cuddly! And they are really posable so you can do lots of fun things with them. I’ve had friends say to me ‘ I hope you’re making my son a sock monkey for his birthday?’ and then run off with him as soon as the kid has unwrapped the present!
